YDA Youth Programs

Inner Spirit is working with the YDA (Youth Directions and Alternatives) to bring programs to kids.

Youth Yoga

This program is designed to bring awareness to the students through the mind and body, as well as the soul. Using meditation, stretching, and constant flow and breathing control, students are enabled to become conscious of their surroundings, both within the class, and outside of the class. Using these tactics allows students to respect and connect with their bodies, as well as those around them. The poses show how to stretch and strengthen every part of their body, increasing body awareness and building self-esteem. The classes offer students tools to release their thoughts and de-stress in an environment that is suitable for their active bodies and minds.

Youth Yoga is held on Mondays from 4pm - 5pm.

Youth Bellydance

This program is designed to promote body awareness and movement, as well as cultural awareness. Students will build self-confidence by means of artistic expression through dance. Classes begin with a warm up to shape the body, increase flexibility and tone and strengthen the muscles of the lower and upper body. Then students are taught individual moves of bellydance technique as well as the foundation skills of isolating each part of the body. Each class is designed to balance the entire body, improve coordination and increase stamina. Students will also learn to work and interact with others directly while dancing, and creating choreography.

Youth Bellydance is held on Mondays from 5pm - 6pm
